Building a shower with Oceania parts comes down to three choices, in order: the base, the door that fits it, and the finish. Oceania designs its acrylic shower bases and glass doors at its plant in Thetford Mines, Quebec, and lists its doors as engineered to match Oceania bases and baths. This guide uses our live product pages and Oceania's spec sheets to show which pieces go together. Everything below is on our Oceania collection.
Step 1: Pick the base size and layout
Measure the finished opening wall to wall. Oceania's acrylic bases are 2.625 in. high, white, with a slip-resistant floor, and come in 13 sizes from 32 x 32 in. to 66 x 36 in. Decide the layout at the same time, because it decides the door:
- Alcove (three walls): the door spans the open front. Use a one-side sliding or alcove door.
- Corner (two walls): glass on two sides. Use a corner door.
- One wall: glass on three sides. Use a three-side door.
Step 2: Choose the drain position and tile flange
Each base is offered with specific drain positions: centre, left or right corner (12 x 12), left or right end, or left or right linear. Pick the one that lands over your existing drain to avoid moving plumbing. Then choose the tile flange: Flange A, B or C refers to the flange layout on Oceania's spec sheet for that size, and "No tile flange" is for installs without tile. Each base page links the spec sheet for every drain option, so check it before you order.
Two things are not included with any base: the drain body/strainer and the glass door. Plan to buy a shower drain that fits the base's drain opening as shown on the spec sheet.
Step 3: Match a door to the base
The table matches each live base to the Oceania doors whose nominal size is the same. Use it as a starting point and confirm the fit on both spec sheets, since the opening width depends on your walls and the door's adjustment range.
| Base | Drain options | Tile flange | Alcove door (1 side) | Corner door (2 sides) | 3-side door |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 32" x 32" | Corner drain 12x12 | No tile flange only | California FP | California FP | — |
| 34" x 32" | Left corner drain 12x12, Right corner drain 12x12 | Flange A, Flange B, Flange C, No tile flange | California FP | California FP 32x34, California FP 34x32 | — |
| 36" x 32" | Center drain | Flange A, Flange B, Flange C, No tile flange | California PB1 | California FP, California PB2 | — |
| 36" x 36" | Center drain, Left corner drain 12x12, Right corner drain 12x12 | Flange A, Flange B, Flange C | California PB1 | California PB2 | — |
| 42" x 32" | Center drain | Flange A, Flange B, Flange C, No tile flange | California PB1 | California FP, California PB2 | — |
| 42" x 36" | Center drain | Flange A, Flange B, Flange C, No tile flange | California PB1 | California PB2, California PR2 | — |
| 42" x 42" | Left corner drain 12x12, Right corner drain 12x12 | No tile flange only | California PB1 | California PB2 | — |
| 48" x 32" | Left end drain, Right end drain | Flange A, Flange B, Flange C, No tile flange | EKO, California PB1, Marelia | EKO, California FP, California PB2, Marelia | Marelia |
| 48" x 36" | Center drain, Left corner drain 12x12, Left linear drain, Right corner drain 12x12, Right linear drain | Flange A, Flange B, Flange C, No tile flange | EKO, California PB1, Marelia | EKO, California PB2, California PR2, Marelia | Marelia |
| 60" x 32" | Left end drain, Left linear drain, Right end drain, Right linear drain | Flange A, Flange B, Flange C, No tile flange | EKO, Marelia | EKO, Marelia | Marelia |
| 60" x 36" | Center drain, Left linear drain, Right linear drain | Flange A, Flange B, Flange C, No tile flange | EKO, Marelia | EKO, Marelia | Marelia |
| 60" x 42" | Center drain | Flange A, Flange B, Flange C, No tile flange | EKO, Marelia | Marelia | Marelia |
| 66" x 36" | Center drain, Left end drain, Right end drain | No tile flange only | Marelia | Marelia | Marelia |
California FP and PB1 alcove doors come in narrower widths (32 to 48 in.); EKO and Marelia sliding doors cover 48 to 66 in. If your exact base size has no matching corner or 3-side door, look at the next size or choose an alcove layout.
Step 4: Match the finish
Every Oceania shower base we list is white, so the finish choice is the door hardware. Here is what each door family is offered in on our product pages:
| Door family | Finishes |
|---|---|
| California FP | Chrome |
| California PB1 | Black, Chrome |
| California PB2 | Black, Chrome |
| California PR2 | Black, Chrome |
| EKO | Chrome |
| Marelia | Black, Chrome |
Black is the way to get a modern contrast look; the EKO and California FP doors and the Marelia 48 x 48 corner door are chrome only. Pick the door finish first, then match your shower valve trim, showerhead and drain cover to it.
Prefer an all-in-one shower?
Oceania also makes complete acrylic shower stalls with their own doors: the Avalanche 36 corner shower (36 x 36 x 78 in.) with the Avalanche PD36 corner door, and the Reality 34 shower (34 x 34 x 84 in.) with the Reality PRE34 corner door. Both doors are offered in clear glass with chrome or black, or Discretion glass with chrome.
Building a tub-shower instead?
For a bathtub, Oceania offers Hydria and Hydria-R bathtub doors in 60 and 66 in. sizes (black or chrome), plus the QI-100 and QI-105 bath screens. Pair one with a tub from our Oceania Pure alcove bathtub guide, or browse bathtub doors.

Does an Oceania shower base include the drain?
No. The drain body and strainer are not included, and neither is the glass door.

They refer to the flange layouts shown on Oceania's spec sheet for that base size. No tile flange is for installs without tile.

Pick a door with the same nominal size and layout as the base: a one-side door for an alcove, a corner door for two walls, or a three-side door for one wall. Then confirm on both spec sheets.
