Maax makes a wide range of one-piece acrylic freestanding bathtubs, and the names alone can be confusing: Elina, Villi, Louie, Oberto, Joan, Tori, Ommu, Kuja, Hatto, Fura, Tosca. This guide starts with the Maax Elina 66 x 34, the first tub to look at, then compares the rest using specifications from each product page and Maax’s own spec sheets. You will find a comparison table with real dimensions, a who-should-buy-which table, notes on drain position, AFR and the Maax F² Drain, and the installation points to raise with your plumber.
Quick answer
- Start with: Maax Elina 66 x 34 – 66" x 33-7/8" x 26-7/8", center drain, 61-5/8" x 29-5/8" bathing well, 95-gallon capacity and 137 lb per Maax’s spec sheet.
- Then compare: Villi 65 x 32, Louie 6731, Oberto 6731 and Joan 61 x 32 – the four other tubs in the same skirted family.
- Tip: the tubs are one piece with adjustable leveling legs on several models. Check the floor, the drain position and the faucet plan before you choose.
- Naming note: our store lists the “Villi” spelling. Maax spells it “Villi”. If you have seen it written “Vili”, it is most likely the same model, and it is a separate tub from the Elina (Elina 66 x 34, Villi 65 x 32).

Notes on the table: “AFR” marks the models whose listing includes an above-floor-rough drain position. The bathing well is the interior floor of the tub, not the overall footprint, so it varies far more between models than the outer size does. Compare the wells, not the lengths, if you want room to stretch out.
The models, one by one
Villi 65 x 32
The Villi 65 x 32 is a rectangular, center-drain tub, 65" x 32" x 25-3/4", with a 62" x 29" bathing well and a 1-1/2" deck. Its key features list a comfortable backrest. The name is spelled “Villi” on our listing and on the Maax website (Maax Villi page).
Louie 6731 and 5829
The Louie 6731 is an oval center-drain tub at 66-7/8" x 31-1/4" x 23" with adjustable leveling legs, a 62" x 28" well and a 2" deck. The smaller Louie 5829 is 58-1/4" x 28-7/8" x 22-7/8", useful where a 6-foot tub is too long.
Oberto 6731 and 6032
The Oberto 6731 is rectangular with a 3" deck, which is the widest listed here for placing a faucet. Its bathing well is 62" x 28". The Oberto 6032 is 60" x 32" with a shorter, wider 42-3/4" x 22-3/4" well.
Joan 61 x 32
The Joan 61 x 32 is an oval end-drain tub. It is the tallest in the group at 31-1/8", and its listing includes an above-floor-rough (AFR) drain position. Because the drain is at one end, the tub suits a layout where the plumbing comes in from the side.
Tori, Ommu, Kuja, Hatto, Fura and Tosca
These six families share a 67" or 59" length and 31-1/2" width but differ in shape, drain position and bathing well:
- Tori 6732 and Tori 5932: oval, center drain, adjustable leveling legs, in Gloss White or Matte White; the 6732 has a 48-5/8" x 22-1/8" well.
- Ommu 6732 and Ommu 5932: oval, center drain, listed as soaking tubs.
- Kuja 6732: rectangular, end drain, with deck space for a faucet.
- Hatto 6732 and Hatto 5932: oval, center drain, deck space for a faucet. The Maax name is spelled Hatto.
- Fura 6732: oval, center drain, adjustable leveling legs, Gloss or Matte White; the shortest well in the table at 40-5/8" x 20-5/8".
- Tosca 6732 and Tosca 5932: oval, center drain, AFR drain position listed, with a 63-7/8" x 28-3/4" well on the 6732 and a choice of white or black skirt.
Also on our site: Sax 6032 AcrylX
The Sax 6032 AcrylX is an oval end-drain freestanding tub in AcrylX with a choice of skirt glass colours; it is 60" x 32" x 24-7/8" with a 42" x 20-7/8" well and an AFR drain position listed. Read it as a separate line rather than an Elina alternative, because it is a different material and shape.

Drain position, F² Drain and AFR for freestanding tubs
A freestanding tub sits on the floor and connects to the drain through a P-trap under it. Most Maax one-piece freestanding tubs listed above have a center drain, which is simpler to place in the room. A few have an end drain, and that changes the rough-in.
- Mark the drain before you drill. Maax’s freestanding installation instructions tell you to mark the drain position on the floor using the tub or the optional template, and to check there are no pipes, joists, heating ducts or electrical wires underneath before you drill the drainpipe hole.
- Maax F² Drain. Maax’s shopping guide describes the F² Drain as a solution that allows quick connection and perfect alignment without demolishing the flooring, and states the minimum space required for the F² Drain and P-trap assembly is 10-3/8 inches. It is sold in ABS and PVC kits: Maax F2 Drain ABS kit and Maax F2 Drain PVC kit. Confirm the kit matches your pipe type and your tub’s compatibility.
- AFR. Above-floor-rough is offered on select models (Joan, Tosca and Sax, per their listings). It leaves clearance under the tub so drain piping can be run above the floor; see our alcove tub guide for a fuller AFR explanation.
Installation notes for a Maax freestanding bathtub
The following comes from the Maax 1-piece freestanding installation guide. Your model’s instructions may differ, and a licensed plumber should do the drain work.
- Mark the drain position on the floor, using the tub skirt or the optional template.
- Before drilling the floor for the drainpipe, check for hidden pipes, floor joists, heating ducts and electrical wires.
- Make sure the finished floor is perfectly level. Maax notes it is very hard to correct the level with the tub in place.
- Adjust the leveling legs with the tub upside down on cardboard so they stand 1/8" proud of the skirt edge. Check every leg touches the floor.
- Preassemble the drain line to the 1-1/2" male pipe thread (NPT) drain connection. Fill the tub to the overflow and check for leaks before completing the installation.
- Finish by loosening the drain connection, turning the tub over on cardboard, and applying a 3/8" bead of silicone along the seam where the tub meets the floor.
Remember floor loading. Maax’s shopping guide advises considering the weight of the filled and occupied tub and whether the floor needs additional bracing. The Elina is 137 lb empty before any water is added.
Faucet planning
Several of these tubs have a deck, and others are designed for a floor-mounted or wall-mounted filler. Decide the filler before the tub arrives because the wall or floor rough-in has to be done first. A floor-mounted example on our site is the Maax Linosa freestanding tub faucet with handshower. Check the tub’s technical drawing for the faucet zone.
Frequently asked questions
What are the Maax Elina 66 x 34 dimensions?
Maax lists the Elina at 66" long x 33-7/8" wide x 26-7/8" high, with a 61-5/8" x 29-5/8" bathing well, an 18-7/8" depth and a 95-gallon capacity. It weighs 137 lb per Maax’s spec sheet.
Is the Maax Elina a center-drain tub?
Yes. Maax’s spec sheet and our product listing both describe the Elina as a center-drain freestanding tub with a pre-installed linear-rounded overflow and drain in chrome.
Is it Villi or Vili?
Maax and our store spell the model “Villi” (Maax Villi 65 x 32). The spelling “Vili” is a common variant in searches but is not what the manufacturer uses.
Is the model Hatto or Hatte?
The Maax product name is Hatto. Our listings and the Maax name use that spelling.
Do Maax freestanding tubs need leveling?
Yes. Maax’s installation guide says the finished floor must be level and describes adjusting the tub’s leveling legs so all legs touch the floor. Maax’s shopping guide says the legs have a 3-inch height range and adjust without tools.
What is the Maax F2 Drain?
Maax describes it as a drain solution for freestanding tubs that gives quick connection and perfect alignment without demolishing the flooring. The minimum space required for the F2 Drain and P-trap assembly is 10-3/8 inches. It comes in ABS and PVC kits.
What does AFR mean on a freestanding tub?
AFR means above-floor rough. It leaves clearance under the tub so drain piping can run above the floor, which suits slab floors. It is listed on select models such as the Joan and Tosca.
Which Maax freestanding tub has an end drain?
On our site, the Joan 61 x 32, Kuja 6732 and Sax 6032 AcrylX are listed as end-drain tubs. Others are center drain.
Do I need to reinforce the floor for a freestanding tub?
Maax advises considering the weight of a filled and occupied tub and notes that additional bracing may be required. Ask a contractor or engineer if you are unsure.
Our honest recommendation
If you are choosing your first Maax freestanding tub, start with the Maax Elina 66 x 34: it has a generous 61-5/8" x 29-5/8" bathing well, a center drain that is easy to place, and a Maax spec sheet with the capacity, weight and drawing you need for planning. If you want an even longer well, the Tosca 6732 lists 63-7/8" x 28-3/4". If you want a rectangular look, compare the Villi and Oberto; for a smaller room, the Louie 5829 or the 5932 models are worth a look. Tori, Ommu, Kuja, Hatto and Fura have shorter bathing wells for their overall length, so measure the well against how you want to use the tub before you decide. Whatever you pick, confirm the drain position, the floor and the faucet plan first.
